Movie screening is here!

Hello zusammen! Movie screening is here.
Ever tried to watch German movie alone? You are not alone anymore!
Come and join us!

SYNOPSIS:

A movie about cooking and killing.; Cook and Mafia-hitman Oskar is back from prison, has a new girlfriend who demands 'no more violence', one last job to do, and he's planning to publish a book with the title Secréts. The godfather of the Russian Mafia in Vienna is not amused when he learns his ever-loyal henchman is obviously about to reveal the secrets of the organized crime. A German/Austrian production clearly aiming for the German mass-market and therefore ditching the typical Viennese dialect (which is hardly understood outside of Austria and Bavaria) in favour of plain German, it also throws away the famous Viennese charme (the movie could take place anywhere in Germany) and much of the voice-talents of Austrian cabaret artists and actors Josef Hader and Roland Düringer (who still had to be subtitled for Germany). The movie bristles with scurrile characters and ideas and even boasts a tarantino-esque finale (a real rarity for a German/Austrian movie!)... ...C(r)ook ( Basta - Rotwein oder Totsein )

Basta. Rotwein oder Totsein ist ein 2004 erschienener Film von Pepe Danquart. Es handelt sich um eine humorvoll-dramatische Mafia-Satire mit makabrem Abgang. Als Kulisse dient die Stadt Wien.

Let's welcome 2012 with a Grillparty!

Hallo everyone!

How is your 2012 so far? Hope you have enjoyed your first few weeks of Semester 2 and not starting to feel the stress and all yet! :)

We should have some time off the busy school schedule to relax and enjoy a little before the mid-terms stress comes in fully! Our German Society has some fun events lined up for this semester, and to start it off, we are going to hold a Grillparty next week on 8th February 2012 (Wednesday)!

It will be a BBQ party German/Singapore style!~ You can get to know more German students and other German enthusiasts! At the same time, you may also try to form tandem partners with one another. Tandem is a German word that we use to mean two people from different cultures teaching each other their languages and culture. It's really a very good way of learning and making new friends. Lets' try to invite all our friends and exchange students to this event! I can't anticipate any further!! :D

Grillparty 2012

Date: 8th February 2012
Time: 6.30pm to 9.00pm
Venue: King Edward VII Hall (A1/A2 Bus Terminal, and ushers will be present)
Price: $2 (members of German Society), $5 (non-members of German Society)

So please don't hesitate any further as the tickets are limited to 50 only! If you are interested, click on the link below to register for the tickets now and get them on the Grillparty day itself.

Alternatively, we will be setting up a booth at Bench 27 20 around Central Library @ FASS this Friday (3rd Feb) and Monday (6th Feb) 2pm to 5.30pm to sell the tickets. You may want to drop by and purchase the tickets from us and ask us any questions you might have! :)

Feel free to email us at frag.mal.uns@gmail.com should you have anything you want to know or ask further! Hope to see you all at the party. Believe me, it's going to be a blast and greatly enjoyable!
