Event Happenings in September

The NUS Students' German Language Society has been involved in two events so far, since the start of the new academic year (2010-2011) this August.

The first, German Day, held on 8 September 2010, was a collaboration with the German Embassy in Singapore, the Goethe-Institut, the DAAD, the German European School, as well as the NUS International Office and Centre for Language Studies. The NUS Students' German Language Society was involved in the NUS Students' German Choir and several of the German games booths and quizzes.

Here are some photographs taken on that day, in case you happened to miss out on the action!

Thank you

Hello everyone,

I would just like to say a big Thank You to all of you who helped out for German Day! I had a lot of fun, and I am sure you did too, (especially those people who won 50 000 Euros in cash=) Thank you for all your hard work, be it coming faithfully for practices, coming down at 9 am to set up the benches, mounting the photos and captions, or simply being so enthusiastic and participating in all the games and quizzes. This is only the start of the semester, and it has been brilliant so far. The German Society looks forward to all of your support for our next few events too!

To thank you for all of your hard work, the German Society is warmly inviting all of you to Stammtisch on Thursday. In case you didn't get to try pretzels and german sausages at German Day because you were simply too busy running around, we will specially prepare German food and drinks for all of you. You can also look forward to games and get to know the other members of the club as well.

We hope to see you on Thursday at the Arts Canteen at 7.30 pm. Bis dann!

Regards
Rachel Tan

Schedule for German Day

German Day, the German event in NUS of the year! Do head down to the NUS Central Forum this Wednesday and give us your support. You're guaranteed to have fun with all the exciting events we've planned.

See you there!

Help Needed for German Day!

Dear friends of the Society,

We need people to help with the pasting of photos for the "Mein Deutschland" photo competition! If you are free any time from 9 AM to 2 PM this Monday (6 September), please head down to the CLS Meeting Room at AS4 Level 5 and lend us your help! You'll be able to take a sneak peak at the beautiful photos that were submitted for the competition. You don't have to stay for the entire duration of 5 hours, so just come down whenever you are free!

We also need a few friends who are free on Wednesday morning (8 September) to help put up the photos for the photo exhibition before the event. If you are interested in helping out, please come down to the Central Forum at 9 AM on Wednesday. Thanks!
