CLS Picnic
Hey all! How are midterms coming along? We have an event coming up...
It's CLS Picnic. Want to get to know other languages and culture, or make new acquaintances with students learning other languages? Then come spend your Saturday 15/10, afternoon 2.00pm - 5.00pm with us at the Lovers' Garden.
What's more exciting is that our very own German choir will be performing then! So do come on down to show them support and cheer them on! See you there!

The German Choir (der deutsche Chor)
Heya, the Choir is up and set to begin!
The event we'll be preparing for this time is the CLS Picnic. The first few practices, which begin during the vacation, are mentioned above. More dates to be found at the panel right of this post on the blog page.
German songs to be sung are:
Auf einem Baum ein Kuckuck
die Affen rasen durch den Wald
Bunt sind schon die Wälder
Erntekanon
Songs above will be "choir-ised", so it would be that karaoke-ish. And don't worry if you don't know how to read notes, it's easy for one to follow the tune of the band.
This event has been around for quite some time and I've to say it's fun and relaxation guaranteed. It is open to all, so do come over and lend your voice!
ATTENTION: Due to last minute changes, the practice on Friday will be at 1100-1300, AS 3/0302
PS: If you're learning German, this is one of the only few things you can do to go along with your routine classes, learning a language does not have to be that dry.

Our first choir meeting
Hey all,
Our unique German choir is back again!
All you need is an interest in singing, no skills required =P. Besides that, this is a SPLENDID opportunity to practise your pronunciation, learn new vocabulary, and have fun.
We'll be having our first informal meeting at 6.15pm, 45mins before the movie screening, at the same location.

German Choir Resumes
The NUS Students' German Choir is glad to be back for the second time. Our first practice will be held next Tuesday. Do join us if you're free! We'll be preparing for a performance on CLS Day in March.

Event Happenings in September
The NUS Students' German Language Society has been involved in two events so far, since the start of the new academic year (2010-2011) this August.
The first, German Day, held on 8 September 2010, was a collaboration with the German Embassy in Singapore, the Goethe-Institut, the DAAD, the German European School, as well as the NUS International Office and Centre for Language Studies. The NUS Students' German Language Society was involved in the NUS Students' German Choir and several of the German games booths and quizzes.
Here are some photographs taken on that day, in case you happened to miss out on the action!

Choir Performance on German Day
Dear all,
The German choir will be performing on German Day (8 September 2010) at the Central Forum at 11.15am. Do come down and show your support!
Choir Members: Please be reminded that we are meeting at 10.30am tomorrow. Dress code is light-colored top and dark-colored bottom.

German Choir Practice Schedule
Here are the last two Choir Practice dates before the performance on German Day!
For the String Quartet, please meet at 6:30 PM for additional practice this Friday (3 September 2010) at LT10.
For Friday's practice, we will be meeting at LT10 instead of YST. Please take note of the change in venue.
On Monday, we will be meeting at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory, Ensemble Room 1 (Level 3). Late-comers are free to join as well.
For those currently not in the German Choir but would still like to join, it isn't too late! (Non-members are welcome too.) We'd like to invite you to come down for our Practices. If you have further queries, feel free to contact us at frag.mal.uns@gmail.com.
